Christian’s Perspective of People

Can you say you Love the Lord and only see others by their “Race” or “Gender” (male or female) ONLY? The latter seems to be the push of our day. The fad of the day is gender fluidity, and everyone is doing it. Many do struggle with this, but many are just wanting to fit in. We are told that we better get on board or be canceled, or worse. We are being asked by those in charge to adjust our view of others by affirming their pronoun preference. This is a bifurcation of the Biblical worldview in which we must walk. The government is pushing this with legislation and tax money, to our Spiritual detriment and our Nation’s freedoms. Christians must love people. We do not have to affirm sin. To reject things contrary to God's Word surely has cost some. I don't think the cost has ended for many of us. The Word tells us what should be our perspective of genders.

True salvation changes our perspective of gender. Role differences are real, but we are one in Christ.

Men in Jesus time looked down at women. Jesus treasured women and their need for Salvation. John 4, 11, and so many other chapters and verses communicate this. He addressed the gender issue, Matthew 19. Feelings don’t change God’s creation. We tried it! Many are looking for the lightning to strike to indicate God’s displeasure. A lack of immediate judgment does not allowance make. God created us, male and female. There is a distinction for his glory. We don't get to change that because we want to love and support someone who struggles with their identity. Everyone struggles in some way. The Christian's perspective of people through the lens of Scripture allows us to offer the hurting hope. People's identity needs to be found in Christ. There is freedom when we see ourselves from his kingdom's perspective, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. We all stumble in many ways. The Bible identifies our struggles but doesn't leave us to deal with them alone. He makes us new creations.

True salvation changes our perspective of race.

In the Gospels, we can see Jesus address race also. He hated the kind of separation that sees people by their outward appearance. Those who “Live in Him” must hate what God hates. Jesus brought people together. The Jews hated Samaritans, but Jesus went and brought salvation to the Samaritans, John 4. The Samaritans hated the Jews right back. Jesus is making one "man" in him. God brings those who hated each other together. That will be lived out by those who look different yet love each other in the Lord. The only thing they need to have in common is the Lordship of Jesus. Our society is attempting to hold us captive to the color of our skin. God Forbid!

In Acts 10, Jesus disabused Peter of his “racist” via religious view of Gentiles. Peter relented and offered the Gospel to a Gentile family he would have rejected. Paul declares in Galatians 3:28 that those who declare Christ as Lord see, “neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, for you are all one...” We can fill that in with any legitimate identity.
