God Will Rescue

If you observe Scripture you would recognize God’s miraculous power shows up through Political persecution, again and again.

Let’s start with the plagues - God was countering political power and its false gods. Remember why they were in Egypt in the first place? It wasn’t a situation of political persecution. Joseph had favor in this political scenario. His family came and grew and actually added benefit to the land of Egypt. It was years later according to Exodus chapter one that a political ruler feared Joseph’s people and the history of all Joseph did was forgotten. That made it easy for the Pharaoh to enslave a people who were an asset. He thought making them slaves would bring about a safety net from them succeeding or forming a coup against him.

Now we are at the Red Sea - God split the sea as Pharaoh’s military might chased down his workforce by force. God rescued his people from political persecution. That persecution, no fault of their own.

David and Goliath - God used one shepherd, as his people cowarded and would, without rescue, look forward to being ruled by The Philistines. Their defeat seemed unavoidable and inevitable. David, a shepherd, feared God, honored God, and because he knew the power of God, he stood available to God. This political rescue was in spite of the feckless, fearful Children of God. He only needed one to trust him.

Elijah, again an example of another rescue from a political and spiritual enemy. Elijah’s faith is renown and repeated in the New Testament, James 5:17. God wants us to remember, HE partners with men and women of faith.

The three in the fiery furnace, another rescue from political persecution. These three weren’t certain of the outcome, but were stalwart in their God’s salvation. They knew no matter the outcome, death or rescue, they would only bow to the ONLY TRUE GOD. Rescue appeared impossible, but they served the God of the impossible rescues. When the King looked for his vengeance to be assuaged, he saw a rescuer, a fourth man, “son of the gods.” He didn’t recognize the Christophany. He would, though.

Daniel in the lion’s den, rescue from political persecution. Though this King loved Daniel, his vanity stepped all over his love. But God is more powerful than the foolishness of leaders.

God demands justice. In Isaiah 42 the Messiah is tasked to bring forth justice... While God doesn’t always immediately rescue, and from some stories we can see that. Yet, he always rescues, how and when he chooses.

God does see the political persecution of his people. According to Hebrews 11, that rescue can be through death. Go look how fondly God remembers those who stood by faith, he chose to rescue through death, but his power over death, in his Son.

He lets his people live under political persecution. He told Israel how to live when in a captive land, Jeremiah 29. This doesn’t go against his desire for justice. It test those that call themselves, his people.

God used Christians to bring forth rescue from slavery in our land. Think about all the Nations that still have slavery in 2020. There is no visible Christian dominate presence and definitely no freedom. Thusly, slavery and brutality of humans remains sanctioned today as I put this post together. And the Left accuses us of evil while attempting to form us into the image of those Nations, like China, North Korea and the like.

In the time we live, where the history of all that Christians have done, good, in building our Nation, the left stands only to accuse. The many evils that God used his people to stymie, are being forgotten; even, mixed with the evils themselves. Our history is being turned on its head. Sadly, people that call themselves Christians agreeing with evil. Many becoming inundated with the worlds system, lust of the eyes, flesh, and pride of life, that’s all to our chagrin and possible demise.

Here’s the good news: God still rescues. We don’t know when Jesus will return. The scripture says occupy til he comes, not wait around useless for a rapture. We are each responsible to walk by faith in the time we live. Let’s choose to be those who are remembered as a person of faith like Elijah. Be a David, the only one to stand. Be the 3 in the furnace, whether death or immediate rescue, you will not bow. Be a Daniel, no matter the power around you, spying through technology, you are in your prayer closet, calling out evil, standing up loudly for justice and righteousness.

Stand in faith

Kneel only to God

Occupy in His Work for His Kingdom come, His Will be done, right here where we live as he looks from Heaven, yet remains present with us through His Spirit.

Amen
