Where Complaints Subside

Updated: Jul 10, 2022

We complain because we disobey God’s command to be content. Hebrews 13:5; 1 Timothy 6:6-8

We complain because we disobey God’s command not to think too highly of ourselves. Romans 12:3

We complain because we don’t obey God’s command to put others first. We are self-aggrandizing. Philippians 2:3

We complain because we don’t obey God’s warnings that without faith, it’s impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6

Complaining becomes our clamoring to stay autonomous, Genesis 3, 11. Here's the vicious circle, our autonomy, living unto ourselves, ONLY achieves reasons to complain. It just goes back and forth. The circle can be stopped when we submit and are empowered by God’s Spirit and learn contentment through obedience. Yes, we all stumble in many ways. But we should not excuse ourselves.

In Ecclesiastical 3:11 God created us toward dependency. We cannot get away from that. We all choose a “god!” Turning to the God that sent His Son for those who were still sinners is the best option, Romans 5:8. Can you name a faith other than Christianity or religion where the god served sacrificed his best for the worse?

This is the answer: contentment and surrender to THE TRUE AND LIVING GOD and SANCTIFICATION lead to dependency that sets us free. If we aren’t choosing that, we get what every NEWS channel runs day and night, CHAOS, COMPLAINTS, and CONTENDING TO PLACATE the humanistic false gods.

Those false gods are always hungry for destruction. “They” false gods are never satisfied until their servants are destroyed. No one wins! Only in Christ are there VICTORS!

Keep chasing the wind! The whirlwind looks close. And when it blows it only leads to complaining. There is an out. Surrendering fully to the True and Living God. The Only TRUE GOD! He brings the contentment we are all looking for. Don't you want that quietness of spirit that lets you rest easy? Isaiah 30:15 says, "Therefore, the Lord God, the holy one of Israel, says: In return and rest you will be saved; quietness and trust will be your strength."

In your strength, there will always be complaining. In God's strength, we find contentment. I don't know where you are, but I choose contentment to experience God's quietness of soul. Especially in a time where the cacophony of complaining comes from every direction, let's look to God. That's where complaints are subsided.
