“ZEAL” to Death!

My desire is, not with just my treasures, which is a mantra in many church buildings, but with my time and talents I will use it all for God and His Kingdom!

I find that while our money is taken with fervor our time and talents are given free passes for breaks, leisure, for not being worn out. Shouldn’t we be willing to be worn out for God’s kingdom?

Isn’t it his strength we rely on? Doesn’t he know how to give us rest?

Paul was beat almost to death, got up and went to preach in the next town. If anyone needed, “ME” time, it would have been him,

Acts 14:19-28. When he surrendered on the Damascus road, he died. He came alive to new ownership. His every breath was the Lord’s. If he lived; he lived unto The Lord. If he died; he died unto the Lord.

All of me is his! Every last bit of energy, money, and gifts/talents. Either I’m sharing my faith, encouraging a believer or teaching a study, writing a study, admonishing a wayward sister, giving to ministries that are building God’s kingdom. But it’s all his!

If my zeal is to only give my money thinking my time is mine, I’m wrong.

If my zeal is to only give time and use my talent and treasures to build my own kingdom, then I am wrong. It’s all his! I’m aware that my ALL IS HIS! And if His, then I get to die giving it All back. That’s Stewardship of all of His’ “Me.”

Someone may read that and think, “is she saying I don’t get “me time?” I’d answer, “that’s not mine to give you. That’s a conversation for you and the God who owns you.” Then I’d ask, “where has Western Christianity strayed so far from Scripture that we’d have that as our primary concern?”
